Resistance screening for Alternaria blight of mustard and its control using plant growth promoting rhizobacteria

i) One or more plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) which are antagonistic to Alternaria spp. will be identified in this study. ii) An effective inoculation technique with A. brassiciae/A. brassiciocola on mustard will be established. iii) Resistance sources of mustard genotypes that exist in Bangladesh will be identified through resistance screening. iv) Formulated products of one or more PGPR will be developed in this study which might capable to control Alternaria blight disease of mustard-rapeseed in the field condition.

1. Environment friendly management of Alternaria blight of mustard-rapeseed will be developed. 2. Minimize yield loss about 10-15%.
